Job Description

At getWorth, we’re redefining how South Africans buy and sell pre-owned vehicles through a tech-enabled, customer-first retail model. We are looking for a commercially driven, operationally strong leader to oversee and grow the branch.

This is not a traditional dealership environment. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-moving, modern retail business where customer experience, data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and team leadership matter more than legacy dealership structures.

The Dealer Principal is responsible for the overall management, profitability, and operational success of the getWORTH branch. The role involves leading sales, aftersales, and administrative teams to achieve business objectives, deliver exceptional customer service, ensure compliance, and drive sustainable growth within the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational and Strategic Management

  • Lead and manage the branch’s sales, aftersales, and administrative departments.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets, profitability, and operational objectives.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day management of branch operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor branch performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Financial Management

Manage branch expenses in line with approved budgets and targets.

Monitor and analyse financial performance, budgets, expenses, and profitability.

Ensure financial controls and reporting procedures are effectively implemented.

Take proactive measures to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Sales and Customer Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and retention initiatives.
  • Oversee sales performance and ensure achievement of branch sales targets.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and ensure prompt resolution.

 Staff Leadership and Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop employees across all branch departments.
  • Implement training and development programs to improve employee skills and performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, guidance, and support.
  • Promote a positive, performance-driven, and customer-focused work culture.
  • Ensure succession planning and talent development within the branch.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, manufacturer standards, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with labour legislation, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate controls and corrective measures.

Inventory and Asset Management

  • Oversee inventory management including vehicle stock, parts inventory, ordering, pricing, and              merchandising.
  • Ensure effective stock control procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Monitor stock ageing and inventory turnover to optimize profitability.

 Marketing and Community Engagement

  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and marketing initiatives to promote the        branch.
  • Support brand awareness and customer engagement strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to make informed business    decisions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, or related field advantageous
  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the motor industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and profitability goals
  • Knowledge of automotive industry trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and branch management software
  • Proven branch management experience at senior management level
  • Strong financial and operational management experience
